Surat Osathanugrah (1930-2008) began to be known as a photographer when he exhibited Vanishing Bangkok in 2002. Before becoming a professional photographer, he was a 70 year old wealthy and retired businessman, founder of Bangkok University and Minister under a couple government administrations.
During seven years as a photographer, Surat had several exhibitions and books about his perspective of Bangkok. He has had his work exhibited at numerous galleries in Thailand and around the world, including the Leica Shop Gallery in Vienna and Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.
He has also published a number of books, such as Vanishing Bangkok, Luang Phrabang and Goodbye Bangkok. He received photographic awards from international institutions such as The XI Triennale at Lalit Kala Akademi.He was also the former president of the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand.

สุรัตน์ โอสถานุเคราะห์ (2473-2551) เริ่มเป็นที่รู้จักในฐานนะช่างภาพเมื่อได้จัดแสดงผลงานภาพถ่ายในนิทรรศการ Vanishing Bangkok เมื่อปี 2545 ก่อนที่จะก้าวเข้ามาเป็นช่างภาพอาชีพ คุณสุรัตน์ในอายุ 70 ปี ชายผู้มั่งคั่งที่ได้ถอนตัวจากวงการธุรกิจ ท่านเคยเป็นทั้งผู้ก่อตั้งมหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพ และดำรงตำแหน่งรัฐมนตรีถึงสองสมัย
ช่วง 7 ปีในชีวิตช่างภาพ คุณสุรัตน์ได้จัดแสดงนิทรรศการและออกหนังสือหลายต่อหลายครั้งเกี่ยวกับมุมมองที่มีต่อกรุงเทพ ภาพถ่ายของท่านอยู่ในแกลเลอรีหลายๆแห่งในเมืองไทย และทั่วโลก รวมถึงที่ Leica Shop Gallery ในกรุงเวียนนา และที่ Auditorium Parco della Musica ในโรม
คุณสุรัตน์ได้ออกหนังสือภาพถ่ายจำนวนหนึ่ง อาทิ Vanishing Bangkok, Luang Phrabang และ Goodbye Bangkok รวมถึงเคยได้รับรางวัลการถ่ายภาพระดับนานาชาติ เช่น The XI Triennale at Lalit Kala Akademi และยังเคยเป็นอดีตนายกสมาคมถ่ายภาพแห่งประเทศไทยฯ (RPST)
